Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born 26 March 1991 also known professionally by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female artist to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. She released her first EP on the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she started to gain recognition. Her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music on the internet back in 2012 after she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. She continued to release her music on the internet including her independently release single Bound. In 2015she sung on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album with the track Sweat It Out 21st July. J. Cole asked her to be a part of his collaboration on Rihanna's remark. In the following calendar, her songs circulated around Dreamville. On December 8th, that she'd signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat, the track she performed along with Cozz in her Revenge of the Dreamers II album that they co-produced. On the 21st of October in 2016, she debuted her first EP called Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening artist on behalf of J. Cole on his song Change in 2017, and performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus along with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July, 2018. The music video followed by a music video in September. The 9th of November saw her release two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then on November 13 two brand new singles, titled No One and Pedigree. She performed with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16and later she released the song as a solo single for her debut album. On February 20, 2019 she released a music video made available for the song. It's already received 3 million viewers on YouTube in its first week. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
